Chakra means wheel in Sanskrit. According to the Vedas, Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy present in a human body, that spin in a circular motion absorbing and emitting various frequencies. These Chakras correspond to points between the physical body and consciousness. Although there are hundreds of Chakras in a human body, there are 7 major Chakras that extend from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each of these Chakras is associated with various body functions, vital organs & glands and to unique aspects of human behavior and development.

The Muladhara Chakra is located at the base of the spine and is related to Survival, the Swadhisthana Chakra is located just below the belly button and is related to Sexuality, the Manipura Chakra is located just above the navel and is related to Power, the Anahata Chakra is located at the center of chest and is related to Love, the Vishuddha Chakra is located in the throat and is related to Communication, the Ajna Chakra is located between the eyebrows and is related to Intuitions and the Sahasrara Chakra is located on top of the head and is related to Spirituality.
